What is Engineered Timber?

Engineered timber is multi-layer timber sections with opposing grains. Unlike common softwood, engineered timber resists warping and twisting, thereby eliminating the cause of windows and doors binding. In addition, engineered timber is knot and defect free.

All timber is procured from sustainable managed plantations in an ethical manner, ensuring the environment is not damaged as result.

Glazing on Calderwood products uses 24mm (4/16/4) glazing as standard with soft-coat low E, argon filled sealed units, warm edge spacer with a wide choice of glass. This offers enhanced insulation, energy saving, noise reduction and safety. Along with being internally beaded and featuring multi-point locking systems, security comes as standard with Calderwood windows.
